Cuisinart was founded by Carl and Shirley Sontheimer in 1971 that has grown into a well known manufacturer of small kitchen appliances. The company was sold to Robert Fomon in 1988 and was renamed Cuisinart Inc. The trademark is owned by Conair Corporation which acquired the brand following Cuisinart’s bankruptcy in 1989.
It was endorsed early on by Julia Child and James Beard who are experts in the culinary field. The company is a leader in culinary appliances, professional quality cookware and kitchen accessories. It is basically a brand for small kitchen appliances, especially the food processor of the same name, one of the first to become popular in the United States. The organization manufactures cookware, countertop cooking appliances, cutlery, hand blenders, hand mixers, coffee makers , toasters and toaster ovens.
