Cherry Swirl Coffee Cake

1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla extract or flavoring
1 tsp. almond extract or flavoring
4 eggs
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 can cherry pie filling

Cream butter, sugar, shortening, vanilla extract or flavoring and almond extract or flavoring. Add eggs, one at a time. Stir in flour and baking powder. Pour 2/3 batter onto a greased 15 x 10-in. jellyroll pan. Spread on cherry filling. Drop the remaining 1/3 batter by tsp. over cherry filling. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 mins..

Frosting
1 c. powdered\sugar
1 tea. melted butter

Mix confectioners\sugar and melted butter. Dribble frosting over cherry coffee cake while it is warm.
