Recipe for cooking banana cake

Banana Cake2/3 c. shortening 1 1/2 c. sugar 2 eggs, separated 4 Tbsp. sour milk* 1 tsp. baking soda 2 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. vanilla extract or flavoring 1 c. bananas, mashed * To make milk sour, add 1 tsp. vinegar. Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg yolks. Combine sour milk and baking soda and set aside. Add flour to sugar-shortening mixture. Add milk mixture. Stir. Add vanilla extract or flavoring and bananas. Beat egg whites and fold into mixture. Bake in well-greased 9-in. square baking dish for about 45 mins. at 350 degrees F.
