Bavarian Torte Pie
Crust
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract or flavoring
3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. chopped pecans
Beat butter, sugar and vanilla extract or flavoring. Gradually add flour and beat mixture. Stir in pecans. Press mixture into and up 1 in. on side of a 10-in. springform pan. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
Filling
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract or flavoring
Mix cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla extract or flavoring. Pour mixture into lined pan.
Topping
1 (29 ounce) can peaches or pears, drained
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Combine peaches, sugar and cinnamon. Toss gently. Arrange over cream cheese. Bake for 10 mins. at 450 degrees F, then 25 to 30 mins. at 400 degrees F. Cool in pan for 20 mins..
Remove sides of pan. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
