Candied Orange SlicesPeel and qt.er oranges. Make a syrup of 2 c. sugar and 2 c. water. Boil until it forms a hard ball when dropped in cold water. Remove from heat; dip orange qt.ers in the syrup. Drain until cool in a fine sieve placed over a platter or bowl so that the syrup will not be wasted. The sugar will be crystallized. Grapefruit and tangerines may be candied in the same way.
