Recipe for cooking fudge ice cream

Fudge Ice Cream
6 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
2 Tbsp. butter
2 c. sugar
1/4 c. light corn syrup
3/4 c. half-and-half
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract or flavoring
1 1/2 c. half-and-half
2 c. whipping cream
In a heavy med. saucepan, melt chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring often. Stir in sugar, corn syrup and the 3/4 c. half-and-half. Stir over med.-low heat until mixture comes to a boil. Simmer 4 mins. without stirring; set aside.
In a sm. bowl, beat eggs until blended. Stir in the 1/2 c. hot chocolate mixture. Cook and stir over med. heat until slightly thickened, about 1 min.. Cool to lukewarm.
Stir in vanilla extract or flavoring, the 1 1/2 c. half-and-half and whipping cream. Pour into ice cream canister. Freeze in ice cream maker according to manufacturers directions.
