Recipe for cooking nutella butterscotch bars

Desserts to Go with Coffee and Tea :: Chocolate and Hazelnut Spread Recipes


Nutella Butterscotch Bars

1 sheet puff pastry
1 c. butterscotch chips
1 c. Nutella
2 lrg. eggs
1/4 c. flour
1 c. miniature chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Using a rolling pin on a floured surface, roll the puff pastry to 1/8-in. thickness. Prick the dough several times with a fork, covering the surface of the pastry. Place the dough on a foil-lined baking sheet and freeze for 15 mins.. Then, bake for 10 mins., until dough is golden brown in color. Set aside to cool.

In a med. bowl, stir together butterscotch chips, Nutella, eggs, flour and miniature chocolate chips. Spread the mixture onto the puff pastry, leaving a 1-in. border. Turn the oven down to 350 degrees F and bake the bars for 15-20 mins.. When the bars are done, the top will be cracked slightly and the center will have a creamy texture. Allow the bars to cool completely and cut with a pizza wheel or sharp knife.
