Recipe for cooking Porcupine Ice Cream Balls with Warm Cherry Sauce

Porc.ine Ice Cream Balls with Warm Cherry Sauce
8 c. corn flakes, crushed to make 4 c.
1/2 c. slivered almonds
1/4 c. margarine
3/4 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
1/8 tsp. salt vanilla ice cream
Warm Cherry Sauce
1 can cherry pie mix
2 Tbsp. sugar
1/3 c. cherry liquid
Make 8 lrg. ice cream balls.
Mix corn flakes and almonds.
Combine margarine, sugar, syrup and salt and place over med. heat and allow mixture to cook until syrup bubbles completely. Remove and add corn flakes mixture. Stir to coat, then turn out on lrg. area covered with wax paper. Separate with 2 forks. Cool.
Roll balls in cool corn flakes mixture and return to freezer.
Serve with Warm Cherry Sauce made by combining Warm Cherry Sauce ingredients in a saucepan over low heat until sugar dissolves.
