Recipe for cooking root beer cake

Root Beer Cake

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract or flavoring
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
2/3 c. root beer

Combine all ingredients in a lrg. mixer bowl. Blend at low speed, then beat 3 mins. at med. speed. Pour batter into a greased and floured 12 x 8-in. pan. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 to 35 mins.. Cool, frost and store in the refrigerator.

Root Beer Frosting
1 pkg. Pillsbury vanilla frosting mix
1 c. cold root beer

Combine frosting mix and root beer in mixer bowl; blend well. Beat until thick and fluffy (4 to 5 mins.).
