Recipe for cooking orange chai

Orange Chai

1 qt. water
1 qt. milk
1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 Tbsp. grated orange peel
8 single servings orange pekoe tea bags
2 Tbsp. vanilla extract or flavoring

In a 3 to 4 qt. saucepan over med. high heat, stir the water, milk, brown sugar and orange peel until boiling. Add tea bags and vanilla extract or flavoring, reduce heat, stir gently and simmer for 1 to 2 mins.. Cover, remove from heat and let stand 10 mins..

Pour liquid through a fine strainer into a lrg. pitcher. Serve hot or cold. Makes approximately about 2 qt..
